I know I am a little late with this. |
Before Eyedrum became the 3,000-square-foot underground art institution on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, it started as a loft party. Called the Silver Ceiling because of the aluminum foil decoration (seen here circa 1997), Marshall Avett and Woody Cornwell’s loft apartment at 249 Trinity Ave. was above what would become the original Eyedrum. The organization closed the doors on its MLK Drive location on New Years Eve 2010. Since then, board members have been producing satellite events around Atlanta. (Photo courtesy Marshall Avett)
